There are rarely any books that I finish in one go primarily because I am a restless soul and secondly I got other stuffs to do essentially something I call “job” but Duff was an exception as I read this book in a go and was actually impressed by it.Duff is another teenage drama book but somehow the narration and the plot make it worthy enough to venture. For one, it has a strong character even though her behavior and decisions are questionable. The central character has got enough sparks to make the book appealing all throughout.
Basically the book is all about the relationship of two troubled teenagers, high school dramas and other Paraphernalia that comes along with a high school book.
It is very real and in my view as simple as it may come. Though the decisions and the circumstances are debatable and huge fodder for feministic and gender based discussions, in my opinion this is a simple and fun book that comes light and yet filled with so much rich and complex emotions
The book has its emotional and funny moments and basically all elements required for a fun read are there. Its narration is strong and so is the language. For all you know, you can actually increase you cuss word vocabulary
and yet see the life of a teen as real as it can getIn whole the book is a lighthearted humor at least till the middle of it and a good insight into high school life and psych of the teens that deal with issues in their own sophisticated and twisted way. The plot may not be very intricate and devoid of classic clichés but narration makes it different and fun enough.Recently I learnt that the book is being converted to a movie which is the main reason that I decided to read this book and even caught its trailer but unfortunately I have a strong feeling that the movie has changed the essence of the main book as the plot seems different from the book by the look of its trailer
how was it?
